Visions of Jesus Painted by the Faith of a Child

My Gift From My Very Talented Friend
Another time that I gained more respect for these people was the night that we were taken to a very popular restaurant that looks out over the whole city. The bottom floor is a small shop that sells products made by Palestinian refugees. I got the pleasure of meeting the sweet woman who started this project and spend some time hearing her heart and her dreams.

As we left I asked if I could pray for her. I told her that regardless of our differing beliefs, I would like to pray a blessing over her before we parted ways. She was very moved that I, a Christian, would want to pray for her since she was Muslim. Before I left she asked if I wouldn't mind praying for a boy who was sitting in the corner of the room practicing his artwork to be sold in the shop. She explained that he has recently been having dreams of this “Jesus” I spoke of.

I spent a precious few minutes with this shy 17 year old Palestinian. I prayed over him and took him firmly by the shoulder and looked directly into his eyes as I told him that the same Jesus that was visiting his dreams was the same Jesus that I have spent my life following. I told him that his dreams contained pure truth and to follow and seek after that truth.

As we parted ways, he gave me a picture of Jesus that he had drawn. His picture portrayed Mary holding Jesus which led me to believe that Catholicism must have crossed his path at some point. I left confident that Jesus is in the process of recklessly pursuing this boy and our encounter was a necessary step in his journey. I know that big things are in store for this boy's life.
